Rawrness in the making

Zheack awoke with a start, and scowled as he looked around his room. For the past four nights, this had been happening to him, and it got slightly more irritating each time since he usually got no sleep at all whatsoever. He found that not sleeping is tiring, but not being able to sleep completely renders him completely worn out. He took a sideways glance at his alarm clock, and was not surprised to see the red glowing numbers showing two in the morning. He sighed and started rubbing his temples. For the first time in ages, he's been able to fall asleep, but not able to stay asleep. It was the same thing every night. Zheack's pathetic attempts to get a full night’s sleep start with him drifting into unconsciousness within minutes of being in bed, and then his dream commence. It wasn't really a dream. It must much worse than that. A nightmare. A nightmare that left his mother's scream ringing in his ears, and that left pain in a section near his abdomen. Like the night before, he tried recalling as much as he could remember; a glimpse into his past. The crying, the silence, and the painful seal cast upon him by his very own mother, which ended her own life. The seal was to keep the falcon demon that had possessed him at birth inside of Zheack... till death do them apart. A commitment that had ruined Zheack's life. Zheack scowled again at the fact that his mother had risked her own life to save his, and resented his father for not being there. Over and over he told himself that he would find his father and find his father's motives for leaving, but that hope seemed very dim.

Zheack sat up in bed and cursed. Then he sighed. He didn't need to curse. Curse words wouldn't solve anything, and they disrupted his usual calm and collected manner. With another sigh, he reluctantly lifted himself off of his bed, and started to get dressed, getting ready for another sleepless night. When he had put on his usual assembly of clothes, he took a look around his room. Even though he spent a lot of time here, the room looked untouched and desolate. Anyone who would have entered would have thought nobody had been there in years. Only the bed and the drawer were used, and even those were old with dust. Zheack walked to his window, and without warning, impulsion took over. He opened it wide, and jumped out. On the way down, his mind was blank, and especially too calm for someone who was freefalling from a two story apartment. Zheack fell two floors and landed as easily as a feline. It was as if he had just jumped into the air. The fall would have killed any normal human. Then again, Zheack was only partially human. He had the appearance of one, but inside, he was much more. He pushed these thought out of his mind and set off walking at a brisk pace.

Walking through the City of Silver, as people had now begun to call it, everything was all too quiet for Zheack's liking. The light that bathed it made everything seem erie, but Zheack ignored the feeling, and walked on. He really shouldn't be walking at the dead of night, when aboviously this was a dangerous time, and an even more dangerous place. If he were to be caught walking around now by the police, surely they would try to stop him, but he did not care. They would never come close to touching him. Zheack could not sleep, and as much as he would try, he would never be able to. The only thing keeping him awake was the distinct feeling that he had to be somewhere, but he did not know where or why. Ever since Realm of Eterna had become advancing so much in the field of technology, things had drastically changed. Now instead of the citizens being in charge, the technology was in charge. The machine guards kept the people in fear, and had set rules upon the people. And one of their strictest rules was not to be out late. If one were to be caught, his face would never be seen again. Zheack almost grinned at the thought of machines in uniform trying to stop Zheack. Dirty and unkempt, Zheack never looks like much of a challenge. The first and final mistake of his enemies; underestimating Zheack.

Zheack had been aimlessly wandering around town with these thoughts in mind, and pretty soon found himself on the outskirts of the city. How he had walked at such a quick pace, and how he managed to arrive here, Zheack did not have to answer to. His face was impassive for a fraction of a second as he turned around to go the other way, but quickly spun around nonetheless. This was perfect! He was on the outskirts of the city. Why go back? He had miraculously not met any machine guards on the way here, and none of them roamed this area. Instead, the men who had once been the officers in charge of the town were forced to guard. Eternal forest. Eterna forest...the name itself brought fear among others. Within the forest lie the most dangerous creatures imaginable. Those who go in have a worse fate than those caught by the machine guards at night. Zheack chuckled a bit. He had never been in the forest himself since it was on constant watch, and he really never was in the mood to cause some trouble. Now, he couldn't think of a more perfect thing to do.

Zheack set off again, but this time he had a destination in mind. He wanted to enter Eterna forest, the place off limits to EVERY living soul. On the short path to the way there, Zheack started thinking about what could possibly be in the immense forest. Lost in his own thoughts, Zheack pretty soon surrounded by several armed policemen. There were about 20 in front of him, but thankfully none behind him. Zheack was actually a bit disappointed that they were just regular humans. One of them spoke. "What are you doing at this time of night? What are you up to?" Zheack smirked but said nothing. He didn't have to explain himself to these men who thought they had authority because of their uniforms...they would have to SHOW him that they had authority. The policeman's eyes narrowed and his finger on the trigger of his gun tightened. "I asked you a question, now answer it. Don't make us use force! We WILL shoot you if we have to." Then Zheack turned to look at all the men around him, and said in an almost inaudible whisper "I'd like to see you try..." All hell broke loose and there were the chatter of 20 machine guns being fired at where Zheack stood. The noise was tremendous, and Zheack would not be surprised if anybody in the vicinity would be woken up by it. However, that was the least of his concern.... The policemen fired for about fifteen seconds, and suddenly stopped to let all the gunpowder and dust clear. Surely their target HAD to be dead. Yet, as the dust cleared, there was nothing but the streaks of gunfire on the seemingly new concrete floor. The officer who had addressed Zheack before stood in shock and his eyes widened as he wildly look around for where the tall mysterious looking man had gone. He would not be hard to spot being that his shirt and eyes stood out in the darkness. Suddenly, there was the sound of flesh on flesh and one officer went down. The leader commanded "KILL HIM!" and once again there was the fire of machine guns. Much to the leader's dismay, several of HIS men were going down. It was impossible! In less than twenty seconds, the noise had died down, and the leader who had addressed Zheack before and commanded the kill, stood face to face with Zheack. The officer gasped, "Who.....what are you?! How did you do all this?!" Zheack smiled and spoke "My name is Zheack. As to how i did that, I do not have time to explain. Now, if you don’t mind, I must be off." With that, Zheack pulled out his most prized possession and slashed at the officer.

After several minutes of walking past thick trees and underbrush, Zheack was starting to get a bit bored. Nothing had happened at all yet, and he was starting to doubt whether the forest was so dangerous. He climbed one of the trees to get a look around, but even then he didn't see anything. He spat at the ground and was about to go back the way he came when he heard a terrible blood piercing scream. Zheack jumped from his tree to the next, a leap of about ten feet. He cleared the gap easily, and continued jumping from limb to limb until the screaming got closer. At last he arrived upon a clearing and set perched on the tree he had just landed on. He had come upon a place where a great battle was taking place. It seemed as if one man was taking on a whole army of creatures. Many of the horrible creatures lay dead at the man's feet while he continued fighting. There were about ten left and he didn't look like he was going to give up any time soon. Zheack stared at the man intently, and with his keen eyes he pointed out to himself a couple of details. He had the appearance of an elf, something Zheack had never seen before. He had dark green eyes and long black hair. He was pretty tall, and Zheack noticed that his armor had the same color patterns. Zheack continued watching intently until the unknown elf finally slayed the last creature. Naturally Zheack said what was on his mind the whole entire time. Half hidden in the shadows, Zheack murmured loud enough for the elf to hear, "Pathetic."

Dessar was chasing the demon through Darnassus. He was starting to close in on the demon. The chase had been going on for a long time already. Dessar knew that if he didn't finish this chase now that he would lose his trail and then it would take a many years for them to find him his trail ever again. Dessar told his stormsaber too move in closer so he could move in for the kill. As Dessar's stormssber moved quicker then ever before so Dessar could make the kill the demon quickly opened a portal to Outland and Dessar quickly fell through.

Dessar was moving quickly through this new unknown land. His stormsaber was getting tired. He had been tracking the demon that had killed his parents. His stormsaber had lost the scent of the demon so he let his stormsaber leave while he rested under a nearby tree. He sat down eating and within seconds he was surrounded by around five lesser demons. He drew out his two swords Hailstorm and Avool's Sword of Jin. He thought to himself that he would make quick work of them. He massacred the five lesser demons with ease.

Dessar wiped the blood clean off of his blades on a nearby tree. He then heard a voice saying "Pathetic". He started to look around for the voice. Even with his big ears he couldn't locate where the voice had come from because it was just loud enough for him to hear. Dessar got out his two swords getting ready for battle. He was getting ready for the unknown. He began to move quickly to try and get away or draw out the enemy. Always on guard. He realized that he couldn't get this thing off his tracks so Dessar stated out loudly " Who or whatever you are come out now."

Demain panted as he is looked around. He had nowhere to go. Nowhere to run. There was not much he can do when he was surrounded by a army of orcs. He thought about his situation and determined the best possible solution. Run. "But how?", he thought to himself. Then he remembered one of his best spells, Portal

"It's going to take a while, but I should be able to escape." He held his hand in front of him and started to open the portal. However, the orcs realized what he was doing and went on the offensive. Demain could still fight, even while opening the portal, but he knew that if he were to get hit, the portal would get disrupted or even destroyed. "I can't let that happen." he thought.

He clutched Bendision and started to defend the portal and himself. He cut down dozens of orcs but they wouldn't let up. "Just a little longer" Demain thought. However, in the midst of battle, a Beserker (really big and violent orc) punched Demain in the stomach. Blood flew out of his mouth and he was sent flying. The portal Demain was making started to go haywire. Demain hit the ground but didn't stop moving. Next thing he knew, he was in the portal.

"Damn!", he screamed in pain.

Demain hit the ground. But this ground was different. Demain could feel it. He looked around and saw creatures he had never seen before, bloody and slain. He then saw a dark figure, wiping blood off it's swords. "Pathetic" the dark figure said and it ran off. Demain stood up and ran after the figure feeling disrespected. Demain stayed in the shadows until the figure stopped and screamed "Whoever or whatever you are, come out now!".

"He must have noticed that I was following him." Demain thought. He walked out of the dark clutching Judgement, ready to fight.

Events were taking place rapidly, and all to quickly for Zheack's liking. He was a strategist, and preferred to be two steps ahead of everyone and everything. He was not being given enough time to analyze the situation, and to plan out his next move. Should he go down in the midst of the (now two) people and confront them? No; that would only cause problems. It's possible that they knew each other and they would be able to take Zheack down. Quick as he might be, he was still hollowed boned and light; built like a bird. They would have no trouble taking him down in seconds, especially since he knew nothing about their abilities. However, he had two advantages on his side. He had stealth, and his location was still unknown. He would be able to kill them both from atop the tree he remained perched. "What good would that do?" he said softly to himself. Over time, he had come to see death in a whole new perspective. He didn't care about death. It was just a stage of life. "Maybe I'll have a little fun before anything" he breathed.

Zheack had to laugh though. A couple of moments ago, he had spoken aloud the one word "Pathetic" to the elf. As he said that, the other figure had appeared through what seemed to be a crudely made portal. It was as if this man had no intentions of even coming here. As he had appeared, the elf had heard his comment, ran off and shouted "Whoever or whatever you are, come out now!". The man that had appeared through the portal had heard it as well. Zheack assumed that he had taken it as if the elf had said it because he had gone after the elf. Zheack studied this new figure. He was at least 6 feet tall, 6'1 at most. Like Zheack, his face was pale and had a smooth complexion, but his facial features were much different. Their hair was a bit similar as well, but his was silver and slightly longer. It covered his piercing orange eyes. He had an odd assembly of clothes that slightly reminded him of an earlier time in history, but the swords he carried were modern enough.

With his one word, Zheack had started something. Now he would have to see how things would turn out. But did he really need to? Did he really need to wait? He was concealed by the shadows, and he was out of reach of those vicious swords. With the portal, it was obvious that the silver haired man knew some form of magic, but it looked poor and he'd find a way around that if it was used on him. But he would not for one second underestimate his foes. He was not going to kill them. Merely have fun. "Let's see how you fare when you are pursued...by something unseen. Untouchable!" He shouted aloud. With that, he pulled two of the five daggers he kept with him, and threw them both with considerable accuracy at the hem of the silver haired man's loose jeans. His intentions were not to hurt him, but to merely just tear the jeans or cause shock. Zheack had reacted really quickly as he spoke, so there was no possible way that he could dodge those two projectiles; heading straight towards him.

Demain glared at the dark figure, ready to kill. But then the same voice spoke again, "Let's see how you fare when you are pursued...by something unseen..untouchable!", and with it came to knives that clipped Demain's pants to the floor. He realized that the voice was from someone else, not the figure. He analyzed the situation, "The Figure didn't throw the knives, so there has to be more than one enemy. The Figure is probably a close range fighter since he has two swords, The Voice is most likely a long range fighter. This is bad. The Voice is probably in the trees, but where? I'm a sitting duck if i don't know where he is. And judging by his words, he wants to toy with me. I can't afford anymore injuries. I can't use a portal. I have to use Darkness."

Demain raised his hand and screamed "DARKNESS". Shadow energy shot out of his hand and blanketed the surrounding area in pitch black darkness. Not a spec of light shown through but that didn't matter, only Demain's orange eyes can see through the black. Demain quickly took the knives out of his pants ran off, hoping to escape. When he finally got out of the dark, Demain's eyes widened as he looked up. A mighty dragon stood in his way. It had to be at least three stories and it didn't look happy. "I must have woken it when I screamed my spell" Demain thought.

As soon as he finished that thought the dragon let out a mighty roar and almost blew Demain's coat off. Demain thought to himself "What am I supposed to do now?"

While still trying to draw his enemy out, Dessar heard the same voice from before say "Let's see how you fare when you are pursued...by something unseen..untouchable!" he turned in all directions to see where the voice had come from. Directly behind him was a human following. It seemed as though his plan to draw the enemy had worked. Soon after the human yelled out "DARKNESS."

Within seconds, Dessar was enshrouded by complete darkness. He didn't know which way to turn, and in the process of trying to get out he bumped into several trees. "Damn" he muttered. "How do I get out of here?" As he said this outloud to himself, in the distance he heard a loud dragons roar. "Things are happening all so suddenly" Dessar thought to himself " So the thing is to afraid to come and face me so they need to use dirty tricks. If that how it wants it... but first I need to get out of here ." Dessar started to walk through the dense darkness. Every turn he made he hit a new tree here and there.

After a long time searching through the darkened forest he finally reached light. He knew that in his current condition he couldn't take on a dragon at all. He searched his bags to see if he had any left over bandages from his first aid. He found one and used it as quickly as possible. He quickly ran to the area of the dragons roar with caution. He saw that the was a warrior there dual wielding two swords. He jacket was almost knocked off him as the dragon blew a fierce wind at him. "Now what.." Dessar groaned as the dragon locked eyes on him as well.

Demain looked to his right just to see the clueless figure stumble out of the darkness. He sighed, "He's not going to be of any use." He pulled out both Bendision and Judgment and charged towards the dragon. "I have no choice but to attack, but how am I going to take it down? Wait, I remember."

5 Years Ago

"But master, how am I supposed to take down those mighty behemoths?!?"

"Demain, when fighting a giant go for the eyes. Not even gods can fight without their eyes."

"But how am I going to reach their eyes?"

"Climb on their backs, the only place the eyes can't see."

Present

"The eyes." Demain thought.

The dragon closed its eyes and let out an enormous breath of fire, but as soon as it reached Demain, he vanished. The dragon opened its eyes an saw nothing. Confused, its eyes widened. Suddenly, Demain appeared on the dragons on the bottom of the dragon's back. As he ran up, the dragon tried to reach for him. However, Demain disappeared again. The dragon turned around, eyes still open, looking for its enemy. Again, Demain suddenly appeared. This time on the dragon's head. He then shoved both his swords in the dragons eyes. "You should have never blinked." The dragon let out a painful screech. Demain jumped off the dragon's head, leaving his swords, and landed gracefully. He turned around, extended his hand and screamed "SHADOW REACH". Shadow energy shot out of Demain's hand and grabbed the dragon by the neck. "Get over here!", Demain screamed as the energy pulled the dragon towards the ground.

"RRRRAAAAAAAAWWWWWWRRRRRR" the dragon screeched as it hit the ground. Demain used his energy and retrieved his swords. He then wiped the blood of Bendision and sheathed it "Let's go, Judgment." He vanished again, appeared on the blind dragon's head, and attacked one final time. "It's over." Demain whispered.

Demain swung the blood off of Judgment and sheathed it. He jumped off the lifeless dragon's head and started to walk away. "Finally, I can get out of -", Demain slurred his last words. He had used up all his energy and pushed his body to the limit. Demain finally fell to the ground and fainted, the only way he could rest at a time like this.

Zheack scowled. As always, when he's looking for a bit of entertainment, he's the one to be left out. He hated to be so...clueless. He spat and gave a look of disgust, intended towards himself rather than the other two. Above everything else, the thing he hated the most was being in knowledge of his own ignorance. Within seconds, Zheack regained his usual calm look. As much as annoyed he was right now, he wouldn't abandon his calm nature, especially now when he needed it the most. He had misjudged... an error for the unwise and something he told others not to do. Such hypocrisy. However, how was he to know that the silver-haired man (as Zheack called him for now) was an expert in Arcane Magic? His portal to this realm had been poor enough to compare to that of a novice. Was it possible that he was hiding his true power at first? Or was it really accident that brought him forth to Realm of Eterna?

Zheack did know one thing, however. As much as Zheack could be wrong about things, his plans never failed him. The silver-haired man had Target One, the elf. To make things more confusing, he had spoken, to bring forth a Target Two. But this Target Two, Zheack, was virtually invisible...as always. Not only had his voice and his two knives brought confusion, but it also induced fear. Zheack saw it. The fear in the silver-haired man's orange eyes when he screamed out his spell darkness. Zheack had winced and had expected far worse, and was a bit disappointed when he opened his eyes and he saw nothing but pure black. For a seconnd he was momentarily stunned, but then he came to realize that everything was in working order. He could not see. A veil that no light could penetrate had been produced. "Desperate much?" he muttered. He didn't know that man could bring out a spell this effective. Yet, that man knew less about Zheack than Zheack knew about him. Being falcon demon, his senses were enchanced. Even in the darkness, he had a feeling where everything was. Sure enough, he heard footsteps going away from the epicenter of the spell. Obviously this spell had a limit to how far it could reach. As soon as those thoughts entered his mind, he was struck by a new thought. There must also be a limit to how HIGH it could reach. With one powerful jump, Zheack launched himself on the limb he stood. The limb snapped with the force of the propelsion, but Zheack was unafraid. He was accustomed to heights. In the air, he looked in the direction that he heard the walking. That was all he needed. He hit the floor with a painful thud, but it ebbed away quickly. He didn't care. He had seen what he needed to see. He set off running with unbelievable agility towards the direction, and arrived upon another clearing.

What he came upon totally took him by surprise, but he did not register it in his face. On one side of the clearing stood the elf. On the other stood the silver-haired man clutching two swords. And though he did not believe his eyes at first, there stood a huge fearsome dragon in front of the silver-haired man. The former had to be at least 3 floors high. It was a pale orange in color, and its body looked powerful. It had a wingspan of about 9 meters, and its forhead had two horns, suggesting that it was a male. The dragon did not look happy whatsoever, and Zheack was interested to see what happened next. The dragon acknowledged both the elf and the man, but it seemed mostly interested in the one with the swords. As Zheack watched, the dragon let out an enormous breathe of fire...hot enough to kill someone in mere seconds. And then, everything was gone. The dragon stopped breathing fire, and where the silver-haired man stood before stood nothing but burnt grass. Then he was back..more specifically, he was running up the back of the dragon. Zheack's eyes narrowed. Another spell. One that allowed him to run at incredible speeds. Faster than Zheack even. Zheack shook his head and focused again, just in time to see two swords being jabbed into a pair of enormous eyes. This was followed by the silver-haired man jumping off and using yet another spell to drag the dragon to the ground. Then it was over.

Zheack was speechless for a second. "How could he still be standing, after using such incredible amounts of energy?" Just as he said this to himself, the man collasped. "Nevermind" Zheack sighed, and finally stepped out. He didn't bother to see the elf's reaction, who was in the midst of all of this. He walked right up to the body of unconcious person and spoke to him directly for the first time. "I know you are unable to hear me right now, but I'm going to say what I want to say. There are some parts of the brain that will hear me, though you can not. First, I must say this: impressive. Most people would have taken the dragon head on, but you were smart enough to go for the eyes. Of course, there are much easier methods than using so much energy on one simple creature. Next, I want you to know, I am the voice that you heard earlier. However, there is no need to fear me since I do not intend to kill you. Instead, I plan to do something else which is the third and final thing I want to tell you. I want to have a duel with you. Not to the death of course. Not because I am afraid, but because your life need not be wasted like that. You have talent. Something I do not intend to take away. Until then, I shall wait for you to awake by this tree right here. That is all."

Dessar watched intently as the dragon struck at the human. The dragon quickly shot huge breath of fire at the human. Before Dessar had time to notice but, when he looked back the human had disappeared. He heard the dragon shriek in tons of pain. The dragons had the humans two swords jabbed right into its eyes. Dessar had seen this type of magic before it was arcane magic. He jumped off of the dragon and used another spell to bring the dragon to the floor. The human pulled his two swords out of the dragons two eye sockets. He began to walk away from the dragons dead corpse and he fell to the floor.

From the trees another figure came through the darkness. He went to the collapsed human and began to speak. Dessar couldn't hear anything that the new figure was saying. It occurred to Dessar the new figure could have been the one who called him "Pathetic". Dessar decided that he would move closer cautiously. As Dessar moved closer he saw the other figure was another human he seemed taller then the one on the floor. Dessar didn't know how skilled this new human was. If he was as strong as the other human who had collapsed he could have a problem.

Dessar with his weapons close by approached the two humans. They were only about 10 feet away from him now. "I mean you no harm, I appeared in this new land while chasing a demon. It was by accident the first thing I want to do is get back to where I came from."
